This Welch’s Fruit Snacks Stunt Is Going To Make Your Holiday Road Trip So Much Sweeter

Before I became a parent, I pictured festive family road trips as a chill, fun way to travel, see loved ones, and enjoy watching the world go by. I thought we’d listen to audiobooks, sing together, and play car games. I thought it’d be a breeze.

I got a few things right (we do sing together! we do play car games!), but I failed to imagine the sheer amount of work that goes into packing the car, keeping everyone entertained, and staying on top of on-the-go potty breaks. And I couldn’t possibly have foreseen how many times I’d hear “I want a snack!” even though we literally. just. stopped for lunch.

That’s where Welch’s® Fruit Snacks come in. These little powerhouses are my go-to solve for, well, everything — in my house, “fruit snacks” are the magic words that can make any situation so much sweeter, and I really believe that, given the option, my son would eat nothing else for the rest of his life.

Well, it turns out Welch’s® Fruit Snacks knows their power, and this holiday season, they’re using it for good. Introducing (drumroll, please): FruitSide Assistance.

How It Works

On November 26th, the busiest travel day of the year, families on some of the country’s most crowded interstate routes — think: I-95 between NYC and Boston, 5 Freeway between Los Angeles and San Francisco, Interstate 55 between Chicago to St. Louis — will be rescued from car trip stress with FruitSide Assistance kits. These are totally free (yes, really) kits that, along with products to help with travel mishaps, include the ultimate kid-pleaser: Welch’s® Fruit Snacks. So if you’ll be in one of these areas and could use a little assistance, follow Welch’s® Fruit Snacks’ social media accounts on November 26th for the precise meeting point locations!

The motivation behind the stunt is very holiday spirit-heavy. “With the launch of FruitSide Assistance, we’re bringing a little sweetness and convenience to holiday road trips with kids,” says Jason Levine, Chief Marketing Officer at PIM Brands, the makers of Welch’s® Fruit Snacks. “It’s our way of spreading joy, making the journey as enjoyable as the destination.”

Why We Love Welch’s Fruit Snacks

Not only are Welch’s® Fruit Snacks guaranteed to keep hungry kids happy no matter the season, they’re also, crucially, mess-free and crumb-free (prayers up to my backseat). Even better, they’re made with Real Whole Fruit as the main ingredient, are gluten free, and provide vitamins A, C, and E.

So as you pack the hundredth bag for your road trip this year (pro tip: don’t forget blackout curtains for the kids’ rooms!), breathe easy knowing that someone out there understands what you’re about to embark on, and is stepping in to help. And whether or not you spot a FruitSide Assistance van, this is your reminder to stock up on Welch’s® Fruit Snacks (along with other healthy go-tos like string cheese and fresh fruit!) not just for road trips, but for lunchboxes, snacks, and on-the-go treats ad nauseam forever. I personally always keep a few packs in my purse to mitigate any bad mood or hangry moment (kids and adults included), and they’ve never let me down.

Here’s to happy holiday road trips for all, and to all a good night.
